Eyyoo people so as you probably know we started to write on English, i am very excited about it. Let's see this weeks column then! In today's column i wanted to talk about this very special person, my favorite fashion model, and a public spokesperson. It's Winnie Harlow. Well who is she really?

Chantelle Whitney Brown-Young more known as Winnie Harlow was a contestant on America's Next Top Model in 2014, where she gained a lot of publicity. She is now 25 years old and has a chronic skin condition called vitiligo (diagnosed when she was four) that has resulted in the depigmentation of some spots of her skin, but that makes her even more beautiful, unique and famous.

But as many people would say she's a "Vitiligo sufferer" she'd only clap back at them saying: "I'm sick of every headline ending in 'Vitiligo Sufferer' or 'Suffers from Vitiligo'. Do you see me suffering? The only thing I'm Suffering from are your headlines and the closed minds of humans who have one beauty standard locked into their minds when there are multiple standards of beauty!"

In 2011, Winnie created a Youtube video titled Vitiligo: A Skin Condition, not a Life Changer, where she spoke about the skin condition and answered questions about living with it. That video opened eyes of many and defined beauty in the unique way. She showed that she learnt how to love her body, and so should we.

Since then, she has featured in endless fashion publications including Vogue Italia, Greece, India,.. Dazed, ELLE, i-D, Bazaar, Glamour, she modeled for the Italian clothing brand Diesel for its spring/summer 2015 campaign, and is also the official brand representative for Desigual, Winnie featured in Beyonce's visual album, Lemonade, and made a collaboration with Kim Kardashian, she also made her appearance as a judge in Ru'Pauls queen drag race 2020. Pretty impressive right!

-Let her words inspire you:

"Equality rules!"

"Regardless of what race, what color, what sex, what nationality, what sexual orientation — regardless of who you are, equality should always rule! Whatever is right for you is right. Period." “There isn’t just one mold of what beautiful is. Beauty is in everything,”

“Everyone has differences, and I feel like I stand for being different and accepting yourself,”

That's it for today's column thank you, and anticipate tomorrows group column to see who we chose and what we think about the outfits they wore! Byeee
